So, if some people are ready to discuss in english..:) here we go...ISnooker is not well-known in germany yet...But its going to get better..:) Cos the last season there were all main tour events on TV , yeah ! I think, this year too..Unfortunatly, there are not many snooker club in here..:( I mean in really big cities like Cologne or Berlin of course, but in the little ones...:( I am from Bonn actually and I wanted to join a snooker club in Cologne, but...In fact, it is quite expensive ( up to 60-70 ? / month), but this is not the real problem..The real problem is thet the club did not had any vacaciones, so you got to wait really long to join it. So, as you see, it is not really great here in Germany according to snooker..:( but we got somme good players in here.Two of them ( Lasse Münstermann and Patick Einsle) , who are many-times German champion, are now in England , at the Snooker academy in Rushdun.There are some great snooker player like Pet Ebdon, James Wattana, Ken Doherty and many of Chinise diamonds including "the incredible" Ding Junhui.....

:) It would be great...no, thats not true... there were a couple of premier league sessions, but really not so much, I guess 4-5 in the hole season...and it was ant DSF, some german sender, and the moderators sucked really..

Hello_o  Snooker is very popular in Germany. We have many snooker-clubs and tables in amusement arcades and a lot billard tables in pubs. But in East-Germany its very rare with snooker  especially I see it, because I want to become Referee. Its not easy in "Snooker-Sahara" East-Germany. At the beginning of october we have a big tournament "the german open" and players like Matty Stevens  , Jimmy White, Ian McCullock... will play their. I´m so upset... I hope we have in a few years a main tour tournament in Germany. That would be very great. On TV we can watch S. on channel ´Eurosport` and sometimes on ´DSF` (broadcasts the Premier League). My most favourite Player is Ronnie O`Sullivan. But I also like Jimmy White, Matty Stevens, Paul Hunter and Stephen Hendry. I got Snookerfreak one and a half years ago. I´ve seen it on telly and became an addict I hope I could answer all your questions for first... PS: special thx to Riba Regards, Sammy |

But you're still very lucky, Sammy... You'll have the German Open held soon and will have the opportunity to see the guys play LIVE!! And most of us only watch snooker on TV and have nowhere to play this game... In Saint-Petersburg (where i live) we have just a few billiard clubs, where snooker tables are placed. And it's quite expensive to play there, that's why personally i don't play much...  |

hello boys and girls wow! so many entries within only one day sammy and respotted black have already told you about the situation of snooker in germany... think it's a pity that opportunities to play snooker are so rare  but i believe snooker is at the beginning to become popular here and in future there will be more events *hope so* @JaneDoe: you're a ref, aren't you? great! @bdb: i'm a snooker-addicted just since china open 2005. i watch the game since two years occasionally, but since april i never missed a transmission it all began with ronnie.... and my favourites are matt  ronnie, paul, steve davis, jimmy white and i'm so glad that i can go to the german open and see some of them playing @riba: thanks for helping me cu tomorrow  Rike |

And in a few years (I hope) we have a main tour event here..that would be so great... @nessi In Gera you have also 7Euros to pay for an hour (in the evening) playing Snooker. In the afternoon you pay 3,50Euros. Sorry to all who can`t play snooker by their own. I hope the situation will change soon. Good Night to all...Sammy |

I can do it for Mom, if you don't mind... Seule says that she's learning German at school. Sometimes she can't remember the proper word in English, so she writes its German equivalent. |

hello dears the last weekend was the best of my life i'm so sad that it's over *cry* it's hard to describe it with words. the german open were so fantastic! i'll try to describe you my experiences: sammy and me arrived at friday evening and visited the club of the ssc fürth. we opended the door and the first man i saw was mark king it was so great to see the fellows in reality and so close there were also lee richardson and david gray in the club. the atmosphere was so fantastic! also on friday played stuart bingham and barry hawkins. but in the "green hall", so we did not see them on friday. until saturday we slept about 3 hours on saturday there was the qualifying round and we've seen interesting matches and the first appearances of Michael Holt, Douglas Hogan, Hans Blanckaert, Gerard Greene, Joe Perry, Tony Drago and Barry Pinches. i had needed 4 pairs of eyes i couldn't decide which match i wanna watch in the evening we were sitting at the bar right next to just arrived Matthew Stevens and Paul Hunter and Lee Richardson (great fellow ). you can imagine how nervous i was but the fellows were so friendly if my english would be much better.... until next year i've learned it the night to sunday we slept about 1 and a half hour so we were very tired... but soon the tiredness disappeared on sunday paul, matthew, neil robertson, jimmy white, matt selt and ian McCulloch had their first matches. there were standing ovations when paul entered the hall. he was very touched at 8 p.m. the players party started it was unbelievable... sitting on one table with matthew, paul, jimmy and david the final day was the highlight with regard to the matches. we saw the round of sixteen, then the quarter finals, the semi finals and the great final. it was so fantastic to see all the pros play against each other. and mark king won the tournament he's a great fellow, very friendly and charming in his winner-speech he said, that it would be very nice to have a main-tour-event in germany i hope so i hope, you have now a little impression of my experiences (i'm already in heaven ) i'll send you a pic of my autographs soon |

Hello, my dears I was also in Fürth to the German Open Snooker Tournement. It was grandious - realy grandious. I was so upset to meet some of my favourites...and I got new...Mark King, Joe Perry, Gerard Greene, Michael Holt...great men... The atmosphare was great...like a big family-meeting for one weekend. We could drink something and lough with the players...I`m still overwhelm... It was great to talk with Bogdan, Jimmy, Paul and so on...Kissed by Paul , watching sexy Joe Perry  , talk with Mr. King Senior...a realy nice fellow... I can`t discribe my experiences...I`m still to upset... I hope all players, who were in Fürth will be there also next year...I will be (as a visitor or perhaps as a referee). No one denies the brilliance of his playing and victory over Mag (and probably Ken?)! But Nail had a special mission to kick the Champ off the tournament)) and now he has another mission (the one that is native to China) and therefore Nail's got all our retranslators tuned on him |

Sorry for Neil. it would be a dream-semi-final between neil and joe...but it is between ding and my joe...  For today my favourit is Steve Davis. And in the final then Steve vs. Joe ... This tournement was very strenuous to me... Joe in the semi-final. I prayed the hole day...it didn´t work... Ok...it was a great achievement from Ding...  beating Neil Robertson, then Joe Perry and then Steve Davis in the final... My body was shaking in the last frame... Ding is now in the Top 32..with his 18years... WOW I´m still confused |

no doubt he is ready to be a top-16 player... but i'm not that sure he's gonna rule the snooker world... at least in the nearest future... he was very good on the UK champ but it's just one tournament... he needs much more stability to become number one... will see... |

Well, I generally started in december 1995, I guess with John v. Ken match in German Open where John played just awesome...  He took six frames in a row and was that amazingly calm and sweet as he is till now  That was the time when I saw snooker for the first time and I loved the game. I has been watching it fortwo years since then with British comment, but understand just few words... Then I took a break from the game because of the study in the University and we also didn't have Eurosport for some technical reasons... Then in 2002, I started again, and for now I'm totally back  I've never been a real "fan" I guess, if we talk about fanaticism, 'cause from the very beginning I understood just some basic things about the game and was really curious, and now I really love it no matter who's playing if the game is good (well, maybe except for some players only  )... but John basically is something special, I can't not to support him when he's playing - Child's experience usually stays forever  |

That was the time when I saw snooker for the first time and I loved the game. I has been watching it fortwo years since then with British comment, but understand just few words... Then I took a break from the game because of the study in the University and we also didn't have Eurosport for some technical reasons... Then in 2002, I started again, and for now I'm totally back
